“In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree 

that a census should be
taken of the entire Roman world. So Joseph went up from the town of
Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he
belonged to the house 

& line of David. He went there 

to register with
Mary, who was pledged to be married to him 

& was expecting a child.
An angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream & said, "Joseph, son of
David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is
conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will 

give birth to a son, &
you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will 

save his people from
their sins."
